#Ramarley Graham, #KimaniGray, #Shantae, So Many More--Enough!

Mothers of slain youth, Kimani Gray and Ramarley Graham, Chas. Barron and John Liu at Saturday's rally against police misconduct at the Graham home.Enuff is enuff. The recent killings of young people in their neighborhoods is a boiling kettle that's about to blow. Outrage over police killings of black and brown kids has converged with the Fake-Stop and Frisk trial, and the NYC mayoral race, to create the most recent opportunity for civic scrutiny on policing in America. The heartfelt appeals of these mothers (and the sister of Shantae, also murdered by police in Bklyn) brought tears to the eyes of many of the 200 persons assembled in front of the Graham home on 229th Street in the Bronx. Props to Brother Liu for being the only leader vying for the mayoralty to make an appearance. He was also a solo supporter of the Sonny Carson street-naming in Crown Heights years ago, for those of you that have short memories. He told me then, concerning Carson, "I'm not saying I like Sonny Carson, but the people should have the right to name a street for him if they choose." Justice and Equality! That's AngryBronx! The thrust of the 2 hour demonstration pictured above is, policing in our communities must be held to account. The disrespect that an occupying force has for its area of control is no longer to be tolerated. These boys in blue are paid for with our dollars. We need them, respect them, and demand that they do what they are paid for. POLICING. Not murder or harassment or the manufacture of fear. An excellent point made by many of the speakers was, how do I feel safe by calling #911 when I don't know if they will arrive to help me or harm me? Charlie Barron suggested that elected officials (listening, Bronx DA Robt. Johnson?) need to recognize that the people's demands for justice need to be addressed judicially because if not, one day the people will demand street justice in the form of "even Stevens" for our dead children. Hmmm. Next step: this battle is going to be now waged in the visible arenas of #FifthAvenue and #WallStreet, among other popular business districts. Push back #Reconstruction2.0. Here's a video that addresses same.
