How Do You Eff Up Such a Simple Statement? Intentionally.

LeBron JamesLebron called himself the best in the world, NOT THE GREATEST. Is there a difference? You tell me. The "media" is no longer concerned with reportage. They want to manage opinion.

As there was certainly a real push to keep Marshawn Lynch out of the HERO Club, so there is with Lebron. Steph Curry just seems so more palatable, no? Why do all the headlines misquote James? You tell me.

#FiftyShadesOfGrey

As should be apparent with this post, Angry will resort to some offbeat measures to drive traffic here, to the place that tells you how to think.

No one in the mainstream is Black enough to say it, but -- wow -- has Obama had to take a lotta crap no other Prexy ever has??? It's not cause he's dumb (think Ford and BushW) fresh with ladies (JFK, Clinton) a crook (Nixon and Bushes and 85% of others) a killer (cause we seem to love his, and the rest's warmonger sides), so what is it that makes this latest affront just partisan politics, and not a remarkably monstruous sortie in a continual assault on this MAN's presidency? The offensive he's facing is deliberately and unashamedly designed to cast his presidency as a non-event, as in: THIS NEVER HAPPENED.

Here, I believe, is the take away sentence from the NYT article below: "The letter, drafted by Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas and signed by most of the Republican majority in the Senate, suggested to Iran that a deal with Mr. Obama might not stick because Congress would not approve it."

WTF? These jackals are providing helpful advice to Iran for dealing with their (Republicans') enemy, the POTUS! And there is NO OUTRAGE. I'm outraged.

It's gotta be the shoes!

HAPPY SATURDAY

Hey, there. Just some unfiltered morning musings, AngryBronx-style. (Perhaps we're grumpy because these are the typical type of our waking ideas?)

That shill for Lifelock, R. Giuliani, has again proven how wrong he was for New York, for America, and for planet Earth. Begone, LispySchitt!

Avella: let's ban machetes in New York town! Huh? That's right. This is the latest task that your do-nothing legislators have decided they need to get to. Don't worry. No talk of restricting gun availability here!

Breaking Bullspit News: You are going to be inundated with the details of boyfriend-beating Columbia professor's misdemeanor assault, all in the interest of gender equality. I predict tsunamic tempest in a teapot waves of non-news. Hope I'm wrong, but I dunno...

Find a Malcolm X commemoration this weekend, AND ATTEND IT. We owe that, and we owe a thought or two for political prisoners every day. Still locked down, some four decades in. For me.

TWISTY WITH the STORY, AS USUAL

Wow! Wouldn't you think the headline for this bullspit non-story would be something having to do with working with a man for ten years without ever hearing him use profanity? I refer, of course to the latest byte from an autobio memoir (look shit up, no free naming here!) designed to pump interest and sales volume. Check the link.

MF'ers never satisfied, is right.

#UpSchittsCreek SAY WHAT? Yeah, Up Schitt's Creek

Second City TV (1976–1981) Everyone knows that we feel television died a little when Second City TV went dark. Well, Eugene Levy and Maureen O'Hara are back in the Angry living room this week. Oh, look it up yourself!

Keep in mind. AngryBronx will never be your bread-and-circuses site -- full of toxic, mind-sucking BS, amidst a world gone made with injustice and wrongs that need arighting! We remain quite Angry. Notwithstanding the topics of recent posts-Disclaimer.       #poptv.com !

ANGRY BRONX Goes Madison Ave?!?!?

AngryBronx has always been proud to be pissed-off, to exhort, and incite (incite your thoughts, Commish Bratton). We're always striving to point out the where the seams don't match up, and where the big lie is hidden in plain sight. But Angry is kinda pleased today, and 'tell ya why. This guy:
I've just finished watching the first week of Larry Wilmore's Nightly, and. frankly, I am impressed.
The Nightly Show is unapologetically Black. It has so far handled REAL news. Topical, nuance-required, newsworthy issues are covered, one per show, in a manner that is intelligent. There's so much minstrel show being indulged in by African-American celebs today it makes one Angry, and angrier--and this B.lacks E.mbarassing T.hemselves (BET, get it?)is usually by performers that should know better, and have sufficient industry status to be able to refuse and decline the stereotyping.

The one complaint I've read spoke to Wilmore's format being one that celebs and their handlers may begin to consider a no-go, no-wins zone, and so may shy away from bookings, eventually leaving him only authors and comedian commentators as guests. I say, SO WHAT?--GREAT! It's about time the content be praised for wit, insight and message, and the celebrity Q ratings be damned. That's it for now, I'm clear. Over. And out.

BRATTON'S CORNER @ ANGRYBRONX? WTF?

                      Peel’s Nine Principles of Policing
Commissioner Bratton's Blog
6 March 2014

PEEL

Bill, when will these principles begin to be more than just rhetoric?      AngryBronx

In my long police career I have often drawn inspiration from a great hero of mine, Sir Robert Peel.  Peel founded the London Metropolitan Police in 1829.  He went on to serve as British Prime Minister for two separate terms and earned a reputation as a powerful and effective reformer.
In addition to establishing London’s first modern, disciplined police force, Peel articulated “nine principles of policing which remain as relevant and meaningful today as they were in the 1830s.   The man had an innate grasp of the challenges police officers face and of the complex interplay between the police and the public that is at the very heart of policing in a free society.  Defining the basic mission of police as prevention, recognizing that police must win public approval, favoring persuasion and warning over force, and defining success as the absence of crime and disorder rather than in terms of police action -- these were all cutting edge ideas in the 1980s let alone the 1830s.
Peel’s nine principles inform the vision of collaborative policing that I believe is essential to healing the divisions that exist between the police and the communities we serve.  They will guide us in our efforts to foster shared responsibility for public safety as we move forward:

Principle 1 - “The basic mission for which the police exist is to prevent crime and disorder.”
Principle 2 - “The ability of the police to perform their duties is dependent upon public approval of police actions.”
Principle 3 - “Police must secure the willing co-operation of the public in voluntary observance of the law to be able to secure and maintain the respect of the public.”
Principle 4 - “The degree of co-operation of the public that can be secured diminishes proportionately to the necessity of the use of physical force.”
Principle 5 - “Police seek and preserve public favor not by catering to the public opinion but by constantly demonstrating absolute impartial service to the law.”
Principle 6 - “Police use physical force to the extent necessary to secure observance of the law or to restore order only when the exercise of persuasion, advice and warning is found to be insufficient.”
Principle 7 - “Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public  who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.”
Principle 8 - “Police should always direct their action strictly towards their functions and never appear to usurp the powers of the judiciary.”
Principle 9 - “The test of police efficiency is the absence of crime and disorder, not the visible evidence of police action in dealing with it.”

Guided by such values and with the help of all New Yorkers and the best efforts of the men and women of the New York City Police Department, I am confident of our success.
                                                  Commish William Bratton

In Brooklyn, in a dark stairwell, in an apartment building in an African-American neighborhood, we understand a rookie on NYPD vertical patrol panicked and shot a young tenant dead, with a round to the chest. Angry hereby guarantees that the NYPost will absolutely continue their campaign of division and incitement (think propaganda that urged Tutsi and Hutu massacres in Rwanda!) against the populace of the City of New York.

We can't post much right now, because we are on THE MOVE, handling the righteous business of struggle in your locale. But you, plug in, pay attention! Speak out, speak up. And then, act. Proceed. Link up. Recognize allies. Identify frauds. And most importantly, begin to watch which corporations you allow to grab your dollar. That's the front line. And pleeeeease. Do not let me see you buying a NYPost. You'll be playin' yourself, and me. Represent. Post laughs at ya.

CorporraForming The PLANET!

The SCOTUS decision concerning Hobby Lobby and a corporation's ability to possess religious beliefs (huh?) that must be respected, is another giant step on the road we are already flying down--the destination of which is a planet where you individuals, you persons, are statutorily second class citizens to CORPORATE CITIZENS. I say "statutorily" (that is, by written law) because in practice we are already subordinate to corporate power and interests. Think about it.

DO NOT MISS THIS KEY! The reason behind these moves is that the current rulers of Earth fear a popularly-ruled planet. Persons of color are numerous, the 3rd World doesn't intend to stay third forever, workers are realizing (once again) that they are powerful when organized, and battle lines are being drawn with respect to income concentration and SHARING of the resources our blue marble contains. Rulers do not intend to entertain any notions of sharing or equity. Ever. So, in the event you've been missing these paradigm-shifting developments, you haven't been paying close attention. Perhaps you'll be more interested if I can convince you that real life is science fiction, and that the scenario I describe (you hear it first here!) is only a treatment for a new movie. Wheeee!

TWITTER??? Mushroom Cloud!!!

Angry is informed that a TWITTER seems to lend itself to staying current and relevant in ways that our friendly AngryBronx blog simply does not. Hmmmm. A TWITTER? Whatsis?

On a more eternal front, in case you're wondering what all the hubbub concerning ISIS derives from, and where it is heading, Angry is always ready with logical, reasoned conjecture. Inevitable now, limited nuclear warfare waged by US proxy, Israel, is what this agitprop campaign in US & European media, political salons and defense corridors is focused on preparing your brain for.

Remember, you heard it here FIRST.

The Confluence of Events -- The Guideposts Are Erect -- The Way's Being Made Straight!

What's AngryBronx talking about?

Well, events have begun to come together in such a way that the Manifesto and Action Plan that Angry created is never current. As soon as it's ready for the press, something else happens: a gobsmack so large and instructive that it cannot be ignored, and has to be dealt with--thus the need for Angry to address the newer landscape.

For instance, an NBA owner banned for life for racist private conversation with his arm-candy? Whoa. Stay tuned!!!

Is This You, SPRING? Are ya truly Here?

Yes, with the coming of Spring, AngryBronx--really shutdown, exhausted, and impeded by this grouchy winter--will come back into its own. Angry's got two "watch me" projects chosen for the Solstice Jumpoff: Third Avenue Trainstation Stream and the BX41 SBS Ish.

What's AngryB talking about now? you might ask. Anyone who takes the BX41 bus knows it ain't as fast as the M34 that's in Manhattan. Or, hey, how about it should be faster because Angry says so!  I hereby pledge to try to lessen the time between buses by half or better. (Do NOT worry about Angry methods. Strictly legal.)

The Stream at 149th and Third Downtown entrance is being caused by, get this, the newsstand's leaking freezer! That's right, your kicks are wet every am because of my candy-selling brother. Had words with him, and gave an Angry (but friendly) request that the situation be immediately remediated. I saw water yesterday. It's now officially ON.

Lastly, I just love dat monkee!!!

Oh, yeah. Do not use the word "slave" when speaking about enslaved Africans or persons. It dehumanizes and classes these MEN and WOMEN as "Other". They were not the Other. They are you and I, but for the fortuitous twist of our births' timing. So, it's 12 Years ENslaved. I'm clear.

The #WeedMan, Alcohol and Affluenza. #AFFLUENZA???

This is why Angry can't keep un-angry for long. Check this out.

I'm listening on WBAI to a fellow who's been sentenced to 20 days a month for the next six months or so, in a NJ jail for simple pot possession. He has been an activist and antagonist, but he's also a person with bone cancer who has California-approved status as a medical marijuana user. He's had to give up his LA apartment, and pay for the plane trips back and forth between his home, and his stints of periodic incarceration. Life's kinda problematic to say the least.

Meanwhile, this other renegade, a kid named Couch, who killed 4 persons with his drunken truck-driving, permanently disabling two of his own friends/passengers, just got sentenced to 10 years of probation. No jail time for these indiscretions. Know why? Because he is an "affluenza" sufferer. Never heard of it? Probably not rich enough. Or a big enough hypocrite. "Affluenza" has been coined to provide the newest refuge and cover for the privileged. It's defined as... well, YOU look it up. I'm getting sick thinking about it further. #Affluenza. Sheesh.
