Well, we've lost another one. His vocal tour de force on I Want To Be Free I have listened to over and over, consecutively, back in the days when you had to get up and re-cue the record. Yeah, think about it. He may have started out shy (story here) but he became the performer that was needed to front a band as talented and diverse as the Ohio Players. Hey, and just yesterday I was listening to Robert (Alan? I mix 'em up) Thicke's Roller Coaster on a recent CD. He better be paying the Players some royalty cash. But I bet he ain't.
R. I. P. Sugarfoot. Rise in power secure in the fact that you did it, and there'll be no other.
